Financial Planning: More Important for Women Than Ever Before

Women are the backbone of CNEWA. The Holy Father is blessed to have the generous support of countless women in his ministry to the poor and the churches in the lands we serve. I’m thrilled that so many women are part of our CNEWA family. And I know that Pope Benedict is raising grateful prayers to God for your past charity and continued support.

I’m a tax lawyer as well as an employee of CNEWA, and I want to put on my lawyer hat for a moment and give you a piece of advice.

And my advice is this: estate planning is just as important for you as it is for men. Women are living longer, working more and controlling more wealth than ever before. Today, you need an effective and up-to-date estate plan (including proper health care documents and power of attorney) to protect your family and carry out your final wishes.

And, of course, I encourage you to include a generous bequest to CNEWA in your final plans.
