The Russian Orthodox Exarchate in Western Europe

A number of parishes and clergy of the Russian Orthodox Diocese of Sourozh in Great Britain, under the leadership of Bishop Basil Osborne, transferred to the Archdiocese in June 2006. The group now makes up an Episcopal Vicariate of Great Britain and Ireland, and includes eight parishes and 11 other smaller communities, served by a total of 13 priests and six deacons. The vicariate is headed by Bishop Basil of Amphipolis (94a Banbury Road, Oxford OX2 6JT).

The best-known institution of this archdiocese is St. Sergius Orthodox Theological Institute in Paris. It was founded by Metropolitan Evlogius in 1925 and is recognized worldwide as an intellectual center of Orthodox theology.
