Men and women throughout our world continue to respond to God’s call to serve as priests, religious and lay catechists. But most cannot afford the costs of their education and formation. The generosity of our donors has enabled these men and women to say “yes” to the Lord.
Through our person-to-person sponsorships, we connect generous donors with seminarians and novices, not only enabling these young men and women to respond to God’s call, but also creating lifelong ties between these benefactors and the priests and women religious they sponsor.
CNEWA assists nearly 200 institutions responsible for forming 1,893 seminarians and 573 novices. Our staff works closely with bishops, seminary rectors and spiritual directors — particularly in India, Egypt, Eritrea and Ethiopia — to improve the quality of formation and ongoing education of tomorrow’s church leaders.
In India, CNEWA also assists in the training of lay catechists, supporting catechetical formation programs and providing these men and women with the tools they need to strengthen the church.
